Louange Akossiwa Koffi, nurse and refugee expert, announces the Fostering Mental Health and Psychosocial Wellbeing pledge at the Global Refugee Forum 2023

At the second Global Refugee Forum in 2023, the multi-stakeholder pledges “National Health System Inclusion” and “Fostering Mental Health and Psychosocial Wellbeing” brought together commitments aimed at ensuring equitable access to strengthened health and MHPSS services for refugees and host communities. The stocktaking event will build on the momentum of the Global Refugee Forum and contribute to the preparations for the High-Level Officials Meeting in December 2025.

Objectives

  • Assess progress on pledges aimed at enhancing refugee inclusion in national health systems and strengthening multisectoral MHPSS, highlighting refugee perspectives in the collective assessment of opportunities and challenges ahead, in an evolving funding landscape.
  • Facilitate the exchange of best practices and promote innovative, scalable, refugee- and community-led solutions to improve health inclusion and MHPSS delivery.
  • Strengthen multi-stakeholder collaboration by fostering partnerships, joint initiatives and responsibility sharing.
  • Leverage the meeting's outcomes to inform upcoming high-level international meetings and policy discussions, including the High-Level Officials Meeting (HLOM) in December 2025.

The stocktaking event is intended for entities that have pledged or are interested in pledging in the area of health and MHPSS. Kindly contact Ms. Sandra Harlass [email protected] , Mr. James Sadlier [email protected] and Mr. Pieter Ventevogel [email protected] for more information.
